You can't just download and install SP2 for Exchange on SBS 2k8. There are issues that need to be taken into consideration ~

Having said that, I have installed SP2 on Exchanges on SBS 2k8 on several servers using the steps outlined in the article and so far I am not having any problems. But for the most part I just install Rollup 10.

              Thanks

If the system sbs2008 is 64
The exchange server is also 64?

Re: Upgrade exchange server 2007 in SBS2008

exchange 2007 is x64 only. So is exchange 2010 (with a limited exception of a trial, not-for-production version of Exchange 2007)

so to answer your question, yes, if sbs08 is x64, then so is exchange/

BTW, we are at SP3 for Exchange 2007 in SBS 2008 already. Don't you want to integrate that?

You can go straight to SP3

AFAIK forefront is optional (although they encourage you to take the 120 day trial)

Re: Upgrade exchange server 2007 in SBS2008

If you are going to install Exchange 2007 SP3 on to a system with Forefront installed, then you should disable Forefront first. This is explained in the release notes. You did read the release notes?

                            http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...EXCHG.80).aspx

Otherwise it just installs. This is different to SP2 which required another tool to do the installation for you to keep the SBS integration.
