  • SBS "7" beta and Server 2008R2

    Hello,

i'm trying to connect my server running server 2008R2 to the SBS "7" network which it has created. The SBS box is running all of the DC and everything else.

When i go to connect the server 2008 machine to the domain it asks for credentials to join such as the admin user and password, however when this is entered it throws up an error saying cannot find the dns. i can connect a machine running Server 2003R2 to the domain with ease and works fully.

This is in a test environment at the moment.

    Any ideas ?

Have you run both Connect to the Network wizard and the Set up Internet Address wizard on the SBS "7" server?

Have you set the NIC card on the Windows server to point the IP for DNS to the SBS server's IP?

can you ping the domain from the 2008R2 server ?
        do you have firewalls disabled?
