You cannot see the new user?
Try refreshing the view -- gpupdate does something different

Why add by AD when the console/wizard does so many things for you? - unless you have a specific reason!

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.

Re: add user console ot active directory

If you MUST create the user in Ad, there is a step you can take to make it showup in the SBS console. This DOES NOT do 99% of the things that happen when you create the user in the console, but will just make the console believe it made it.
        1. Open the SBS console and select Users and Groups.
        2. Click on "Change User Role for User Accounts"
        3. In "Select New User Role" click "Standard User"
        4. Click "Add User Permissions or Settings". VERY IMPORTANT!
        5. Click Next
        6. Select User Accounts window should appear. At the bottom, check "Show all users in Active Directory". THIS IS KEY.
        7. Select the users you want to bring into SBS. Click Change User Role
        8. The accounts should now show up in the console.
If this does not work, you can set is manully via the Advance Features, Attribute Editor, and you change on of the Settings in there (Sry I can not remember any more details on what attrib we changed, but I know it was in there).

        Hope this helps.

Re: add user console ot active directory

This is by design. There are some accounts that you may not want to show up in the sbs console. I created 2 sharepoint system accounts for accessing and searching the database only. I didn't want these accounts to show up in the sbs console because I don't plan on ever doing anything with them after I create them. So I created the accounts using AD instead of the console.

And if not "slowly hides credit behind back" this is not the credit you are looking for.
