  • More than one email domain name

Hi all - can you help please

we need to collect and send mail for 2 domains in SBS2003 standard - can we?

one group of users need it for one of the mail domains and another group for the other.

say its [email protected] and [email protected].

the users only need to retrieve and send mail from their specific domain name
the users have no need to collect or send mail as from the other domain name.

How do we set it up is the question.

    Any help much appreciated.

    thanks

Re: More than one email domain name

Simple to do. Get your ISP to point the MX records for both domains to the external IP of your server. Configure your users with the appropriate email addresses, make sure your recipient policies are not configured to automatically give all users both email addresses. Whichever email address is in bold in ADUC is your users default reply from address and is the address that external users will see when they send emails.

You need to configure Exchange to be authoritative for both email domains, check out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823158
