  • SBS 2003 RWW - User account connected as "TEMP"?

    Hello all,

Having an odd issue. Setup my SBS 2003 server fine, and tested all RWW and Exchange etc.

Now, im in the US for a couple of weeks, and when i logon on to my computer via RWW, i am prompted for my Username and Password, which is fine. I then select my personal computer and connect. I am prompted for my password again (and confirm my username is correct and that i have selected to logon to the domain.local, not just the local computer)

When i login, i notice my wallpaper and shortcuts arent there - its a new default profile. On the start menu it shows my username, but if i open up a command prompt it shows:

    C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\

Odd. I thought it would connect to my regular account? This also causes problems becuase Sophos update keeps failing as the useraccount isnt a member of the local sophos administators needed to perform the update - so its quite important.

Whats causing this? Why cant i use my regular profile?

    Thanks for any help

Did you create you account using the Wizard or did you do it manually?
Is your account a member of the Remote Web Workplace Users Group?

      Thanks for the reply.

Nope, created all the user accounts using the wizard. Can confirm the user is a member of the Remote Web Workplace Users.

Even more odd, ive tested using another user account logging onto another computer and it works fine... loading the correct profile as expected?

Very odd and hard to diagnose!

Can you logon to another computer with the original account? It sounds like the profile is corrupt to me.

          Thanks for the reply.

I tried connecting to another computer (still using the same useraccount, password and domain) and the same ("new") defualt profile appears.

Odd thing is, if i save a file on the dekstop - it will be there at the next login, like a new profile has been created?

What would you suggest? How would i know if the profile is corrupt?

          Thanks

Since I do not know what OS you are using, I would suggest you start by using the words "corrupt profile" in
