  • Public Folder Permissions . . . . !

    Hi,

I am literally pulling my hair out trying to get my standard users access to read/write files within the public folders on my SBS2008 Server.

The folder is obviously shared and I have given the group "everyone" the "full control" permissions but still when I try to do anything in there it just says access is denied....

I have tried everything, giving the permissions to the exact path, the absolute path, a specific standard user, permissions to specific files, making a standard user an owner..

I would have thought that the public folders that are created to begin with should allow full control to everyone anyway shouldn't it?

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Dave

    Hello,

Are you referring to the "Public Documents" (C:\Users\Public\Documents) folder within the \\ServerName\Public Network Share? IIRC, the permissions on that folder a re fairly loose.

Also, did you check the NTFS Permissions AND the Share Permissions?
