  • Automatic Time Sync

I am running a SBS 2008 standard server and the clock on the server is always off. How do I tell the server machine to automatically sync the computer's clock with a time server? I looked around and found that issuing the command as administrator

    w32tm.exe /resync /nowait

does the trick manually however I want this to be done automatically. The w32time service is running however I am clueless as to how to automatize this.

    Any help is appreciated.

      Re: Automatic Time Sync

Hmmm.. What am I doing wrong?

I went through the settings for

Configuring the Windows Time service to use an external time source

and all the settings were correct. I should be polling every 15 minutes however the server still doesn't correct its time that is usually about 30 minutes off every week.

      Any ideas?

Awesome, that last link has a step by step to do. Apparently the time.windows.com server is to blame. Changing the servers worked like a charm.

Rep Points to Wullie for that one as he has sung the praises of time.windows.com :vomit: on a previous ocassion about the religious accuracy of its' time keeping.
