  • Administrator has no install privilege

    Hello to All,
This is my first posting, hope I am in the right place.
I am working on 2003 server DC with all current updates.
I am logged on as administrator and trying to install
new software. After the install programs starts I get an error
message that says " You must have Aministrative privileges to
install ". Has anyone had a similar problem and a fix.

Re: Administrator has no install privilege

    Could you do installs before?
Has anything changed in your AD configuration? i.e GPO?
Can another account that is a member of the administrators group do the install?
Are you RDP'ed into the session you're trying to do the install on?

Re: Administrator has no install privilege

I have installed and removed MS office as a test, all went well.
This Domain has also been upgraded from W2k to 2003.
And I have tried the install both locally and RDT still no luck.
Perhaps I need to contact vendor.
