  • Editing DsHeuristics vaulue with EDSI Edit

I have an SBS 2008 server that will be used by three companies. I created thre OU's and chosen a regular internal domainname.

Everything works great and people can't see each others data.

Ofcourse Exchange is a different story. With the help of msexchange.org i found a topic for hosted Exchange that should do the trick for me. But it's not that easy.

I'm now stuck at setting a value at DsHeuristics with ADSI Edit.

Any help on editing the value would be appreciated!

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.

First action is always to google, i already found where i can edit the properties, but when i click edit, you cannot change the value from <not set> to 001.

The topic you refer to is dated in 2005. Well before Exchange 2007, Windows 2008 and SBS 2008 came out.

I don't think you need to modify that attribute. I think it only applies if you're running Hosted Messaging and Collaboration. If you're hosting multiple companys on Exchange you should follow these directions:

        http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/...003_Part1.html

We host about 100 different companies on Exchange using the directions in the link above and have never set the dsHeuristics attribute.

We are going to run a hosted SBS environment and Exchange is a big part of it.
The topic regarding the shared hosting i used on MSexchange.org is the following.

          http://www.msexchange.org/articles_t...l?printversion

I just found where i can enter the value.
When you connect ADSI Edit to your server, the default value is "deafault naming context". When you change it to "Configuration", I was able to enter the 001 value.

Sorry, I assumed it was Exchange 2003 (which is what we run). I haven't transitioned to Exchange 2007, so I haven't read this article yet.
