    Re: SBS NTBackup permission problem!

what user account are you running the backup as, and what group memberships does it have? The log file tells you that the user doesn't have the appropriate permissions, which suggests you're not running the backup as an appropriate user. Run it as a domain admin (preferably a dedicated user account).

In addition to gforce's comments can you explain what has changed since last month? Patches, users, passwords etc?

Well thanks for the answer, but i am running this backup through the administrator account. I already check these kind of things suggest something diffrent becasue some times it fortunately successful with the same administrator account with all the rights i have assigned.

So it seems to be random whether it works or not?

Check the permissions on the files that it highlights, etc. If the permissions all work out fine then consider the other possibility highlighted by the errors - that the files and/or registry are damaged. Have you had a virus infection?

Does anything else run at the same time as the backups?

Not sure I follow that response. I meant is there anything in scheduled tasks or any other programs that may be running when the backup is also running?
                    cheers

We can't know what you have or haven't checked so we try to suggest things. If you can provide a list of the things you have tried then I will not suggest them.

I realise this is for XP but have you tried this to see if you have errors on restart?
