  • Can't ping SBS Virtual Machine

    I have the following configuration:
A Host machine: windows Vista (192.168.2.4)
    B. Virtual machine 1: windows server 2003 (192.168.2.10)
    C. Virtual machine 2: windows SBS 2003 (192.168.2.9)
I am using microsoft virtual machine 2007.

All machines can ping all other machines, except for the Windows SBS Server
    - The host machine can ping Virtual machine 1
    - The host machine CANNOT ping virtual machine 2

    - Virtual machine 1 can ping the host machine
    - Virtual machine 1 CANNOT ping virtual machine 2

    - Virtual machine 2 can ping the host machine
    - Virtual machine 2 can ping virtual machine 1

I have 1 NIC card. All machines are pointed to my home DSL router as the gateway (192.168.2.1) I followed your instructions for disabling the firewall then forcing a group refresh which you had explained on another post.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Monica

    Welcome to Petri, Monica
A well thought out first post, plenty of detail.

Which firewall did you disable -- the SBS one or on the host?
Have you run any SBS wizards, specifically CIEW?
