    Hi all,

I installed SBS 2008, updated all available patches through MS update. Than I went through the wizards setting up the SBS 2008 step by step. I also configured the SMTP smarthost, the wizard gave me two green OK. Now when trying to send mails I get the message "451 4.4.0 Primary target IP address responded with: "." attetemted failover
to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate host, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts" in th que viewer.
I'm not able to send mails. I have no probs reported in the event logs. DNS wise I have a forwarder configured two the DNS-servers of my ISP. Collecting mails via the POP3 collector is no problem.

The strange thing that I set up SBS 2008 RC1 the same way and had no problems.

    Any idea?

    kind regards

If you are still having problems, that means the remote server has rejected the message. Does your ISP require authentication when you send through their smart host?
