  • SBS2003 R2, IIS + RPC/HTTP connection problems

    Hello All,
Starting yesterday, some thing got screwed up on our SBS server.
When we try to connect to our defualt web site (http://www.domain.co.il/ )
We're prompt for user and password.
No user or any password we try, will let you log in.
As this started, we can't access the OWA or infact any web site from the Internet.
Also we're unable to connect to our Exchange with RPC/HTTP.
From the LAN Outlook connects to the Exchange with no problem.
Also the https://www.domain.co.il/exchange is working ok (with a certificate error) but working same for othe web site that are installed on that SBS.

I tried to rerun the connect to the internet wizard, but it didn't help.
Any idea what's going on here.

    Thanks,

    Ran.

    Anything in the logs etc?
The more information you provide the better.

Have you run dcdiag, netdiag too?
    cheers
    Andy

      Hi Andy,
All passed with DCdiag and Netdiag, nothing in the IIS logs.

      I tried the RPCping util

      C:\Documents and Settings\user>rpcping -t ncacn_http -s mydomail.co.il -o RpcProxy=mydomain.co.il -P "user_name,do,momain,*" -I "user_name,doamin,*" -H 2 -u 10 -a connect -F 3 -v 3 -E -R none
      RPCPing v2.12. Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation, 2002
OS Version is: 5.1, Service Pack 2
      Enter password for server:
      Enter password for RPC/HTTP proxy:
RPCPinging proxy server mydomain.co.il with Echo Request Packet
      Sending ping to server
Error 12175 returned in the WinHttpSendRequest.
      Ping failed.

Could not find any helpfull info on this error.

      Thanks,

      Ran.

        Re: SBS2003 R2, IIS + RPC/HTTP connection problems

        OK problem solved.

It appears that my connection which I used to test, is blocked for some
of traffic (through there is no firewall on it).

So I've created new certificate for the site, opened OWA, installed the
new certificate and boom, Outlook (not OWA) started to receive emails
        with RPC/HTTP connection.

Thanks for Andy for trying to help,

        Have a nice weekend all.

        Ran.
