  • SBS 2003 Exchange database dates 2 weeks out of date

Got an SBS server and noticed the Exchange databases are 2 weeks out of date.

Exchange is working ok though. Any reason for the dates being 2 weeks behind?

Think I should have added that the databases were moved from the C drive to the D drive a few weeks ago, due to the space getting eaten up on C.

The system does work ok, it's just for no reason at all I looked in the new Exchange folder on D and saw the dates were about 2 weeks out. The log files are still on C drive.

Is it possible that the databases are corrupt as a result? Do I need to run eseutil or similar?

What method did you use to move the database?
          1 1 was a racehorse.
          2 2 was 1 2.

Did it the proper way (I think)

Dismounted the databases in Exchange Manager

Then went onto properties and selected the new location, then waited a few minutes whilst it moved.

(Sorry if some of the above doesn't quite sound correct. The Exchange server is at a customer site, plus I rarely use Exchange)

Quickly nipped in to see the customer about something else today. Took a quick look at the database dates, and they are 10 days out of date. I know the system is working ok, as we've exchanged a few emails over the last week. Just curious as to why the dates are out?

I checked my dates and they are all %today%. I do not have a good answer.....looks like we need an MVP......

It doesn't sound possible, most odd!
Sorry to ask but can you re-check in esm exactly where it thinks the databases are? Are you checking the modified date or creation date?
Have they actually changed size as well, are they the actual files or a copy maybe?
                  cheers

I did quickly look on ESM for the location. It was on D:\Exchange, which is the folder I created when I moved the databases a couple of months ago. In My Computer, it is in the modified date column where I see the date. I haven't noted the file size.

The clock is correct on the server too I guess.
Does the time/date change each time you look?
                      cheers

Stop and start the MSExchange Information Store service. Are the dates OK now?
