  • Upgrade Windows 2000 with exchange to Windows 2003 SBS

    Hello,

I currently have a windows 2000 server with exchange 2000 installed on it.
The plan is to upgrade this server to windows 2003 SBS (includes exchange).

I know I have to prep the domain controller for the upgrade through the r2 tool disc.

Is there anything I need to do for exchange though? or will it just upgrade it automatically?

    Thanks very much.

I would install the SBS with its own (new, blank) Exchange databases. Then "forklift" the old databases (priv1.edb/stm and pub1.edb/stm) as if they were an offline restore and you should be good to go.
    TIA

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.
