  • Granting right to a specific mailbox doesn't work

    I have followed the whole story at :

    to give access to different mailboxes for a particular user.

    In fact, I did that on 3 complete different SBS 2003 servers.

    On 2 it worked and on 1 it didn't.

    First my user logs on at https://url/exchange and sees his own mailbox.
    Then the user goes to https://url/exchange/other and he gets the following error :
    The page cannot be found
    The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
    HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.

    I don't get it ...

    I have just created 2 new accounts with mailbox and they do not have this problem, they can both access both mailboxes.
    I only have this problem with already existing mailboxes which a new user needs access to.
    Weird ...

        Thanks for posting back with your solution - though I am not sure how it refers to your case. Are you saying that the mailbox that didn't work, didn't have an SMTP address?

          Nope, obviously I was not clear about this, let's try to explain.
          This server hosts mail for domain1, domain2 and domain3.
          Domain1 is my domain and is the primary domain in the default recipient policy, as set by the wizzard, domain2 and domain3 are domains of customers that only need webmail, not even a website, just mail.
          Users of domain2 had smtp addresses in domain2 only.
          Users of domain3 had smtp addresses in domain3 only.
          In this case, I had the problem, because everybody needs an address in the domain which is the primary in the default recipient policy.

          I gave everybody, apart from their existing addresses, an SMTP address in domain1 and domain1 is the primary address in the recipient policy, and this way it works.
