  • Can't connect to client computer resources using computer management

Can't connect to client computer resources using computer management say's RPC server not available and some client computers i can connect and try disk management and say's about unable to get service from logical disk management service. I have the right credentials, i started the Remote procedure call (RPC) and the RPC locator still cant connect to client resources. i did the same with the clients but still nothing.

Is this problem something to do bout the not having enough ephemeral ports available?

Glad to have all your opinions or solutions bout this. Thank You

Re: Can't connect to client computer resources using computer management

Did you UTFW - in this case, did you join the computers to the domain by using in a browser //<server>/connectcomputer?
If you did, then it should just work. If, however, you have ISA on your SBS there is a situation where it prevents RPC connections, but I would have to search my memory or some old notes to find out what you need to do there.
If you didn't UTFW, then you must set all options by hand, including domain firewall settings and Remote Desktop permissions.
    TIA

The best way to do anything with SBS line of products - use it wizards.
So looks like You have 2 options:
          1. Disconnect problem computer from Domain, and then connect it correctly by using http://server_name/connectcomputer (as already Steve mentioned).
          2. Try to deal with problem in current status - so check on client computer:
          - Third-Party Firewall\ any Internet Security solution installed?
          - Check on target computer that "DCOM Server Process Launcher" service is in Automatic mode and running.
