  • New Email Account can send emails but can't receive

    Hi

I'm new to SBS 2003 but have managed to setup a new email account on a SBS which has other existing email accounts.

The new email address can recevie emails without any problems but as soon as someone tries to reply to this they receive the following message:

Your message has encountered delivery problems
    to the following recipient(s):

    [email protected]
    (Was addressed to [email protected])
Delivery failed after 1 attempts within 0 hours and 0 minutes
    550

No recipients were successfully delivered to.

Any ideas what I need to change so this email address can receive emails?

I would check your DNS settings and your Recipient Policy settings. Which email domain are you using? xxxx.com.au or xxx.au?

Shouldn't all the settings be correct if I already have working email accounts?

Not sure about SBS so i'm presuming its the same.

Have a look at this and see if it is OK.

Open ADUC and select Exchange General then click on the Delivery Restricitions button.

No need to presume. It is exactly the same.

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.

Are they replying using the REPLY button or are they typing in the address and replying with a new email?

Have checked the ADUC settings and everything seems fine.

              Any other ideas?

Looks like the error code is as follows:

                SMTP 550

I have just used the add new user wizard which also creates the email details and the new test user has the exact same issues.

Any ideas where else I can look?

With very little to go on from the details you have given us, try re-running the CEICW and configuring e-mail (CE) again!
Also an ipconfig /all from the server might be useful.
                    TIA
