  • Users experience a breif pause before they can open a share

    Hi,

I am running an SBS 2003 Server with SP2 and all the most recent updates. MY users have recently started complaining that when they try and double click on a network share on the server they experience a brief pause of about 5-10 seconds before they can select the share. Once they are in the share there are no additional speed problems selecting and opening other folders.

I'm not quite sure where to start looking for a solution for a problem like this but so far I have been monitoring the system usage when the users are access the shares and everything appears to well within norms.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?

Try to browse using IP Address, if it works fine then you need to look for WINS.
