  • Trying to run Windows Backup on SBS Premium.

    Hi,

I've been trying to run the Windows Backup on a SBS 2003 Premium edition. It used to always crash during the first seconds of the backup since i was trying to backup de System State, and this includes SQL and shadow copies (and from what i've read on a microsoft KB, you can't backup shadow copies if SQL is running using the Windows Backup tool.). So, i'm wondering if there's a way to backup the System State using the Windows Backup software without backuping SQL or wathever makes it crash.

Can you post your backup log as I can't really tell what is happening from your description. BTW you can backup SQL data if it is set to a "simple" backup in the maintenance plan.
    TIA

Your English seems pretty good so have a read and see if this helps. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912414

I've tried what was in the MS KB but it didn't work. First i tried to change only the SQL Server service account (used LocalSystem account), then i tried to change all the SQL services accounts (used LocalSystem account), still failed with the same error in the log as i posted in my previous post.
