  • Disabled account properties?

If I disable an employees account in SBS 2003 because they are terminated, will the account still receive e-mail and can I still assign permission for another user to open the mailbox of the disabled account?

    TIA

    Re: Disabled account properties?

If you disable the user object in the past the user stopped receiving mail messages, however following modifications in Microsoft Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 this is no longer the case and the mailbox will still receive mail messages. There are numerous methods around this, the following details a few http://blogs.technet.com/benw/archiv...-accounts.aspx.

You may not access mailboxes that are attached to disabled user objects.
