    hi

    i read this artical
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884453

"After the new computer is successfully promoted to a global catalog server, remove any other global catalog servers in the domain"

    why?

"Change the DNS settings on all domain controllers to point to the new SBS 2003 computer as the primary DNS server"

    why?

i have an sbs2000 with dc2000 and they both configured as gc.
the dc2000 is the primary dns.
and i also change the priority for DNS SRV records, so my dc2000 is always asked
    unless he is not available.

    ?

    thanks

Not advised to keep your 2000 as DNS. DHCP/DNS are all linked with AD and as such want the SBS to handle them - SBS is a bit selfish that way! SBS should be your logon server so it should be GC and DNS AFAIK.

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.

have an sbs2000 with dc2000 - witch means ad integrated zone.
