  • Moving exchange on its own box in SBS 2003 Environment...

    Hi Guys,
Is it possible to move exchange 2003 to its own box in Windows SBS 2003 environment?

My SBS 2003 box is running extremely slow and also if someone can tell whether i can move OWA to our webserver rather then running it on SBS 2003 box?

    Please all help is appreciated....

    Thanks in advance,

First question is, why is your box running slowly? What are its specs?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

Another thing to consider would be the licensing costs of putting Exchange on a different server. It would more than likely to be cheaper to repair/upgrade/replace your exisiting server than go down the route of a standalone exchange server, especially when you start talking about additional CAL's etc.

What's currently wrong with your server?

FYI SBS R2 no longer requires extra CALs for Exchange or SQL servers on separate boxes - only the server licenses themselves.
