  • SBS2003 screen freezes

Have an SBS2003 server and for some reason it has come up with an interesting issue.

We have not installed any new hardware and software on the server.

But last Tuesday the screen froze, you could move the mouse cursor but not use the keyboard, RDC was also not avalible on it, however all the network resources, eg file shares, printing, exchange were all working fine. Since the server is working fine the event logs also seem fine as well

The only way to recover the system was to pull its power. It restarts fine but when its doing the loading computer settings the first thing it does is rebuilds the AD indices, now I am fairly certain that is a bad thing.

So any ideas why this may be happening?

    Cheers

    Dave

    Do you have
    a) a bad screen saver
    b) a bad keyboard/KVM connection?
    TIA

Iím honoured to have been selected for the SMB 150 list for 2013. This is the third time in succession (no logo available for 2011) that I have been honoured with this award.

We donít stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.
