  • Default OU structure

So apparently changing the OU structure of SBS 2003 breaks the add user, add group, etc. wizards. I found this out far too late.

I don't have the media handy to create an SBS install to see how it should be, so I'd greatly appreciate it if somebody could send a screenshot of their AD Users and Computer console in a working/fresh environment?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Default OU structure

    I've since solved this.
In case anybody has the same problem:

    Code:
    - foo.local
     + Builtin
     + Computers
     + Domain Controllers
     + ForeignSecurityPrincipals
     + LostAndFound
     + Microsoft Exchange System Objects
     - MyBusiness
      - Computers
       + SBSComputers
       + SBSServers
      + Distribution Groups
      + Security Groups
      - Users
       + SBSUsers
Now, apart from the stuff under MyBusiness, none of that is SBS specific, and if you don't have that you may have much deeper problems than I did.

Amended for clarity. The wizard creates users in SBSUsers. Many big server admins get a shock when they open up the Users Container (at the bottom) and see it empty. BTW there was a non-SBS friendly technician at Microsoft PSS that initially got the same shock
