  • Restricting Internet Email

    Hi All,

I have client running SBS 2003 who wants to restrict certain users from "Sending" internet email but OK for internal mail.

I have followed the routine mentioned in the following link, but still the users can send mail to the outside.

    http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/MF009.html

The article mentions creating a mail enabled group (but not what type of group) I presume Distribution.
Also to create a SMTP Connector, ?? The SBS box already has a default SMTP connector - can we use this.

I have gone through the above routine a few times and still no go.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

    Re: Restricting Internet Email

In server management, go to the users section. Double click on the user and goto the "email address" tab.
Set their .local to primary and then uncheck the box "automatically update email addresses based on recipient policy".
This will only allow for internal email.
    This worked for us.
    Thanks
