  • Precautions for time zone change?

What precautions should I be taking for the time zone change on my SNS 203 SP1 network? I have been out of the loop for a while and am just plowing into the material.

Is there a patch or should I be editing the registry? Does my Exchange Server also need a patch?

    Thanks

    Edit:
    (KB931836) seems like the solution

If my workstations are getting their time set from the server, do the workstations need to be patched?

Re: Precautions for time zone change?

Workstations (XP and up) will get updates that include DST fix.

But as far as I can tell, for outlook w2k thru 03 requires a manual install. Its called TZMove.exe (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en)

    For better explanation see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931667/

I haven't found a clear answer on a patch availability for Win2k. I have two Win2k servers and two workstations. What's everyone else doing?

      Thanks

        As far as me...http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/01/11/1844246

I tested on my test w2k advanced server at home. It works when i change times for all (US & Canada) time zones ...pst, central, mountain, eastern.

GUYT says theres some bugs in this fix though, doesnt update some other time zones. But my boxes are in the US so I dont see a problem.

You can also use Micro-confusion-Soft and do the fix urself through the registry.

Re: Precautions for time zone change?

For 2003 servers you can see this thread here:
          http://forums.petri.com/showthread.php?t=13633
Officially for MS 2000 is in extended support and since this is not a security issue, you can get their support for ~US$4000.

However, you can use TZEdit to make changes manually, or as mentioned there are several patch solutions on the net.
          TIA
