  • error 1006 & error 1030 only for the administrator

    hi,
i have SBS2003 with service pack 1. (DC)
i also have server2003R2 as a member server (FSS).
their both dual NIC (the 2nd is disabled).
i also have wins server defined in addition to dns.

every time i work on the FSS i have to log on as a domain admin user other than domain\administrator.
thats because every time i logged in with administrator i have no access to the AD on the SBS followed by error message:
    ---------------------------
    Active Directory
    ---------------------------
Naming information cannot be located because:

    The logon attempt failed

Contact your system administrator to verify that your domain is properly configured and is currently online.
    ---------------------------
    OK

in the event viewer on the FSS - app log i see error 1030 and error 1006 on the FSS

if i try to do net time \\dc /set /y for example, i get an error in the cmd:
    System error 1326 has occurred.
logon failure: unknown user name or bad password

there are no error messages on the DC.

btw - i already tried gpupdate /force - it finished successfully but nothing has changed, and i tried to UNC the dc and it was also ok...netdiag and dcdiag on the DC were also ok.

if im logged in with administrator from another computer- everything is ok- i can log in with domain administrator and i have full access to anything.

i googled it and read some posts on experts-exchange (http://www.experts-exchange.com/Oper...l?qid=22091615)
but they only good for cases where it doesn't matter on which user u log in with.
    and on petri.co.il
    (http://forums.petri.com/showthread.php?t=1101)
but its not the same case..
i will really appreciate help on this subject- its kind of weird...

    error messages on the FSS

    event id: 1006
    source: userenv
    user: domain\administrator
    type: error
Description: Windows cannot bind to DOMAIN.LOCAL domain. (Invalid credentials).
    Group Policy processing aborted.

    event id: 1030
    source: userenv
    user: domain\administrator
    type: error
Description: Windows cannot query for the list of group policy objects. check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this

have u ever encountered with a case like this one?
    help will be appreciated.
if u need anymore details just let me know...
    10x.

Re: error 1006 & error 1030 only for the administrator - i really need help

    ok,
    i tried:

    1. everything on event id
    http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?e...serenv&phase=1

a- disable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network (on the FSS)
    b- delprof on all profiles
c- disabling & enabling Workstation Service
    etc...

i ran netdiag.exe on the FSS.

thats what i got (with two different users)

with my domain admins group member (reminder- when im logged in with this user- everything is ok):

Re: error 1006 & error 1030 only for the administrator

If you look at the FSS DC do you have a SYSVOL directory which is the same as all other SYSVOLs on the DCs?
Remove the Windows Firewall if it is operating and try to replicate between the servers again.
Have you tried to rename the administrator account at any point? Is this the original -500 (SID) account?
Check the FRS event log for any other entried which may give you a clue.
