  • Exchange user cannot receive mails....

Hi to all, hoping that someone here may be able to help me!

I have a 2003 sbs setup that suffered an overnight crash last week.

Server came back up OK, but now one of the users is not receiving their mails.

She was working OK before the crash, and mails can be seen on the webmail server (from ISP), and are being collected by the exchange server, but nothing is appearing in her mailbox.

    Any clues please?!

Moved to the SBS Forum for the Steven to cast his guru like SBS eye over the question.

How is she accessing her mailbox? Outlook? OWA?

It's happened to me that sometimes when Outlook loses connection to Exchange that it will go into Offline mode. Might want to check that...

Saw that in another post, so that is OK.

Are there any 'repair tools' or some such that can be run on a mailbox, or should I just consider deleting it and re-entering the user?

            TIA

There is a tool to repair corrupted databases but I think we need to dig deeper before we go down that road.
-Check the event log on the server
-Look for sync. issues in outlook
-Check the configs on the user (e.g. proper group membership, proper email addresses, etc.)
-Try accessing the mailbox through OWA and see if the emails are there.

Sounds like you are using the POP3 connector - check it is running.
Better still, do yourself a favour and get a fixed IP address and run SMTP. That's what "real" mail servers use
