  • SBS2003 public folder problem

We migrated from Exchange 5.5 to SBS2003 on a different computer (new domain). We used the Migration Wizard to move the Users & Mailboxes. Following Microsoft's procedure we moved our Public Folders via export/import using Outlook 98.

Initially, we could see the public folders on the new server, but we could not send email to them using our custom forms. The public folders appeared in the Public Folder Instances on the Server. In trying to track down the problem we created a 2nd Admin Group, 2nd Store and 2nd Public folders. Somehow, our Public Folders in the 1st Admin Group disappeared and they were no longer accessible from client computers using Outlook 98. The Store (.edb) is still there. The Public Folders show up in the Active Directory under Microsoft Exchange System Objects.

Online research talks about using pfmigrate.exe to move public folders but the Migration procedure says do via .pst export.

How do I recover them to the default Public Folders so I can get at them from MAPI clients?

Which is the correct procedure to migrate the public folders?

    Thanks in advance
