  • Asus data security manager

    Hi all,

On my lapto ASUS F7S series,i'changed the OS from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate.

I had some pictures saved by Asus Data Security Mannager(ADSM) on Vista, wich I saved before changing the OS.Now upon upgrade to Windows 7,even if I have the password,I cannot access to the pictures by ADSM. I need you help to find the way to decript such files.
    Thanks a lot

    Re: Asus data security manager

Did you upgrade (possible chance of encryption keys surviving) or do a fresh install (not a hope)
Only other solution is ask Asus who might have a back door.

Basically, dont encrypt for exactly this reason!

It was a fresh installation. Asus said that no way possible to decript. Do you have any other suggestions how to decript the files?

        Without the key, no chance
You could try a brute force attack, but with 256bit encryption -- or maybe stronger -- it may take some time

(That would be geological time )

          Thanks Ossian,

in any case, since I've no more chance to decript the file, let try this "brute force attack".Please tell me how to do it.
          I'll try.

          Waiting yours.

            Re: Asus data security manager

You will need to see if there is an online tool to open this this type of file
then try A, then B, then C..Z, AA, AB.... (dont forget lowercase letters, and numbers...)

            Honestly, you havent a chance!
