  • Trouble installing FCS management components

I've got SQL Server 2005 SP3 on an x86 install of Windows Server 2003 SP2. I'm trying to install Forefront in a two-server config (I already have a WSUS server), but it isn't working. When I run the verification step, I get the error:

Error: Could not access this address: http://servername/Reports Details: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. Error: Could not access this address: http://servername/ReportServer Details: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
I can see that the reporting service is set to manual and not started. When I start the service and hit the URL from the server, I get back:

The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.
I saw this thread but don't know what to the solution means when it says a new site was created in IIS and, "put everything there." I know I can't use the default site on this server because it is used by another site. What do I need to do?

I've got .Net 1.1 and 2.0 installed and patched to the latest SP.

    Thanks.

Turns out it was a problem with my Reporting Services installation. This forum thread details the steps I took.

      Thanks.
