Re: ISA 2006 Std and Exchange 2007 integration

By the wonders of here's the technet guide. Seeing as you don't specify the components of Exchange you are using that'd be a good place to start.

You're not going to get someone posting a step-by-step guide for you. Firstly because everyone in this forum is a voluntary contributor and has better things to do, and secondly how is anyone going to learn anything if they get spoon fed answers. Far better to increase your own knowledge and understanding via your own research and experience IMO.

And when TMG is released (currently in RC) you can even use TMG as edge transport server.

Re: ISA 2006 Std and Exchange 2007 integration

        Hello,
        Thanks for advice.
consider that I am New in exchange 2007 and ISA 2006.
I Installed default Exchange 2007 (without EDGE role) and ISA 2006 in separate Servers. In LAN I can send/Recieve mail and event if I configure with Real IP in one of two NIC of the exchange server i can send/recieve mail from internet. But I can not configure the ISA 2006 server to secure the Exchange server bcz i do not want to use real IP in exchange server. So I want use one REAL IP in ISA server and only one private IP for Exchange server. so it is need to configure Exchange and ISA both. can any one help to give me the idea how to implement ISA 2006 for Exchange 2007?

        Thanks

You have to create the publishing rules, eg SMTP, maybe OWA and/or OMA etc.

Re: ISA 2006 Std and Exchange 2007 integration

As dumber said, use the publishing rules. ISA 2006 has excellent wizards for publishing the various components (SMTP, OWA, Outlook Anywhere and Activesync) of Exchange servers. You'll also need an access rule to allow inbound SMTP on port 25 to the Exchange server. Ideally I'd make the Exchange server single NIC as well if possible to keep things simple.

Check the link I poste earlier, there is a section on publishing SMTP and it also lists the pre-reqs for DNS configuration etc.

The certificate with the private key should be installed on the OWA server and on the ISA server.

Well uninstall it again and buy a certificate at godaddy or so.
Its way more easier and nicer...

Also, remember that ISA server is a firewall and don't run anything else except ISA on it.
