    please don't hijack other threads.
I suggest you read the forum rules.

Also, no you can't install ISA on windows 2008. Wait for TMG or install ISA 2006 on Windows 2003.

Sadly not, although ISA 2006 is 32-bit only it will not install on Server 2008 x86 versions. Options are wait for TMG (Q4 this year apparently), use a 2003 server until then, or virtualise ISA in Hyper-V which is now a supported option from Microsoft according to Technet.

i guess once it goes live i'll have to do a full upgrade.. that'll be fun.

Going a bit /me slaps my hand, but do you know if TMG has PacketShaping built in, Marcel? (Haven't had time to read the docs yet)
                1 1 was a racehorse.
                2 2 was 1 2.
                1 1 1 1 race 1 day,

Re: install ISA server 2006 on windows 2008

Currently I'm ill at home... Anyhow for what I've seen (and that where just a few moments) is doesn't have packet shaping. For ISA there is a tool called bandwidth splitter...
                  It's not a packeteer

When I'm better again, I have 2 major issues with ISA NLB clusters, 1 urgent installation, 2 reviews of the ISA designs, 1 Design to create at my own, 1 customizing a design and 1 global (default) company rollout design review and a chat with the consultants and architects about that global design
So I'm a bit busy to check TMG a bit further.
One cool feature where I'm really pleased about it is that you can enable remote logging (duh same as previous ISA versions) but, when the remote logging server crashes, reboots or goes down for maintenance, TMG won't shutdown but instead it will start logging locally.
