  • Google search error

I don't know if anyone has come across this when searching in Google.
We have started getting a Google page saying something in the lines of:

    Google We're sorry...

... but we can't process your request right now. A computer virus or spyware application is sending us automated requests, and it appears that your computer or network has been infected.

We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your computer is free of viruses and other spurious software.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google
It lasts for a couple of hours and we are back in business again.

We connect to the internet through an ISA box.
When one of my colleagues contacted Google, their explanation was that's happening because of the multitude of queries coming from our public address.

Has anyone had this problem before? If so, can anything be done from this end or do we have to wait for Google to find a way for differentiating genuine searches from bogus ones.

    Thanks in advance

      Re: Google search error

      Cheers Dumber,

      Ironic isn't it??

      Searching Google for Google errors

Well' I didn't do that before for two reasons.

1- Couldn't do a google search because of the error
2- Also, wasn't that sure that Googles results on the matter would be impartial and not filtered out to make it like it's not a google issue

On a more serious note, I thought maybe any of you guys had experienced anything like that before as the returns from the Google search didn't return much quite similar to our issue.

        Re: Google search error

Well it was indeed quite Ironic
But hey, luckily Webcrawler (my favorite many years ago) still exist and otherwise Live search or yahoo and many many others
In any case, I never seen it before but I've seen others complaining about it when I was Googling (new word? My Firefox spelling checker didn't recognize it ).
It's a problem from Google. They imply that certain phrases is giving the issues or that when a huge load from the same ip is querying a lot at Google.

Oh well, in that case they should be a search engine in the first place
