  • RE: Save files only in MyDocuments/Group Policy

    Greetings,

I have folder redirection set up on the MyDocuments folder. However, I cannot find a Group Policy to specify the Save As dialog box to point only to My documents so users can't save locally. I have seen third party tools that do this but can it be done without one?

    Thanks!

I stopped users from saving to the local drives, by hiding them in a policy. The only options they have are all network drives.

      Thanks.

Thanks for the reply but not exactly what I was looking for.
Anybody else know how to restrict Windows to only save to My Documents?

Even if you block off the "save as" route to the local drive, they will always find a workaround.

The best thing you can do is restrict access to network drives only.. I.E - block the C:\ from view.
