  • FTP problem

    hi to everyone.
here is no forum for ISA, I have the following problem.
i have isa 2004 , i defined a rule in which i allowed all the traffic from internel to external. but when i access a ftp site from command promt, it only ask for suername , when i enter username then it showes this error "connection closed by remote host". but when i access this ftp server from any computer with live IP, then it works. Plz let me know,, what to configure in ISA , So that everyone from my LAN can access ftp server which resides outside.

    Re: FTP problem

Allowing all Outbound Traffic is not good. You just create an Allow Access Rule, choose the Selected Protocols to be FTP and SFTP, then from "Internal" and "Localhost" to "External", finish your Rule, and make sure it's above the Default Access Rule which blocks everything.

(If you are using ISA as a Proxy)
Internet Explorer ---> Tools ---> Internet Options ---> Connections ---> LAN Settings.

You need to configure the "Proxy Server" to be the ISA by adding your computer's IP Address (Which holds the ISA), and port "8080" to the "Proxy Server".

(Not related to your problem, just a tip)
I suggest also that you create 3 Access Rules, one to allow the DNS, and another one to allow the SMTP and POP3, and of course http and https (Those are the basic needs for ISA).

          oops, missed that

Try filezilla and see if you got any errors.
