  • How to monitor Internet using by Employee

I want to restrict the internet browsing for our Employee.

I want the employee only use some recognise sites(which are predifned and listed by office managment) and block all other sites.

    Example:
a user named "test1" can browsing only "http://www.yahoo.com" or "http://www.gmail.com" but he cann'nt any other sites. If he wants to browse another site he needs administrator Parmission or require password.

    Is it possible?

    Please help with any idea.

At a basic level, in Explorer's help file there is this, which I hope points you in the right direction:

    What are Parental Controls?
Parental Controls are features that allow you to control the content that your children can view when browsing the Internet. If your version of Windows has Parental Controls, see Help and Support for more information.

    What is Content Advisor?
Content Advisor is a tool that blocks or allows specific websites, based on the site's content rating. For more information, see Internet Explorer Content Advisor: frequently asked questions.

Do you wish to "monitor" or "restrict" or "both"??? title and text are not in sync.
      Cheers,

I've just been to see a potential new client who use Barracuda for this exact same requirement. I don't know anything about it but they use it for just what you describe. You can search for it on Google and then download an evaluation copy to make sure it is what you want, because I do not want to post a link to their site here.

          There's always the lovely ISA.

Yeah well, but you get a denied page instead of a login prompt.
I can't recall at this time (1 am) if you can configure ISA to show a login prompt instead a denied page.

For this you will defiantely need some sort of proxy server.

Have a look at the following site.

              http://www.stbernard.com/products/iprism/iprism.asp

We use one and it is a great prodcut when configured properly.

Barracuda is also a very good product.
