  • password assistance.

Okay let me start by saying. I am sorry.

    Alright.

    Background.

The reserve unit I belong to, aquired 7 pc. All 7 have Win XP pro. Let me explain further, the 7, none have been stolen the PC's just have been sitting for awhile then moved to my unit.
No one knows the user names &/or passwords associated with these PC's.

I have been all over this site reading and taking notes. I am just about to cry, no really.

    Problem.

Okay here it is. I used some geeky password reset image file. Changed the boot order, 1. Cd, 2. USB, 3. Hard disk...
Nothing happend. Then the screen went to the choose from
    Windows XP
    -or-
    Windows XP recovery console.

I chose the console option, I chose "1:c:\windows" installation that I would like to log onto.
    Type Administrator password.

Now in theory the geeky image file "should have worked." Trying to utilize the "cracking" tool do not work.

Besides spending money on buying a new hard disk, what else can I do?

    Thank you.

Did you read and try any of these?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

Maybe a format and reinstall -- its not as if you have data you need and I assume you have license keys? Save you a lot of heartache anyway
