  • Trying to reset password, now asking for activation!

Our network guy left, dropped us in deep doodoos. We've got control back of our router and switches, but the Win 2K3 SBS Standard isn't playing ball...

So, we've managed to reset local password, and I was all ready to follow http://www.petri.com/reset_domain_ad...er_2003_ad.htm, but when I login in Directory Service Restore Mode it says it needs activation, asking for a confirmation ID. Damn!

I managed to find a tool which says it can stop the activation, but it needs to boot in Safe Mode, and to do that I need the domain admin password, which is what I was trying to get in the first place! Catch 22!

    Any help much appreciated.

I haven't seen such a behavior, but what can I say? Just activate it. If you're legal there will be no issues with it.

      Hi,
If you have a legal software and do not know the product key with which the OS was installed you can use the follwing software to get the product key to activate your OS..
