  • one pc-Xp controls password of other PC-Win7

Local nework has PCs with Xp and one with Win 7 64Bit.
One Xp-PC, unused for awhile, had a forgotten password so I went in via safemode and Admin and changed the password to the same as the one used on the win7 PC. Worked fine - BUT the WIN7 PC now refused its password !
Apparently wanting the password of the Xp-PC i.e. an older forgotten one.
A day later the Xp-PC again refused the new password so I simply told it to require No Password. Tested ok and shut down. Now Miracle : the Win7-PC started up and accepted its normal password !
I let Avast run a boottime scan on both but nothing suspicious was found.
HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS BEFORE please ?
