  • McAfee Encrypted USB Drive

    Hi,

Anyone know if it is possible to access a McAfee encrypted drive (mounted by USB) that used to be in a laptop? I have the encryption password.

Apologies of this is not the correct forum for this question.

Is this a disk that was encrypted by McAfee or a McAfee Encrypted disk?

McAfee Encrypted disk, this might help

Disk that was encrypted by McAfee is a different matter as it would matter how it was encrypted.

Yes it was (unfortunately it seems) encrypted by McAfee i.e. the system was built, McAfee installed and then it encrypted it.

So it would have been done using drive encryption?

You may be out of luck i'm afraid. Do you know how it was done? Was it a domain system that it was encrypted on?

I guess it must have been ... the access password changed at the same time as I changed my domain password each month.

I take it that's pretty much shot me in the foot then?
