  • Administrator account disabled/locked

    Hi,

    Win 2000 Server SP4 (stand-alone server)

Forgot admin pwd... I don't want to reinstall everything from scratch...

I've tried to set a blank pwd using Nordhal's pwd recovery tool but after rebooting at the logon screen, the system is still telling me that I have a wrong password (??!!)

I've noticed using Nordhal's tool, that in the "user data" screen just beside the "Administrator" account I got a "locked or disabled" message...
And the script is asking me if I want to reset failed login attempts, locked accounts, etc. (I select "yes" for this option)

Could this be the problem ?

As I didn't want to try yet the "logon.scr trick" is there any way to unlock and/or enable the administrator account ?

    Thanks for any help

    K.

        Mr.MCSE

The term is supposed to be "Rag head" if I'm not mistaken, but either way, Shai is neither.

Anyway, thank you for your delightful insight. You've just got yourself banned.
