recovering admin password

  • recovering admin password

    my work laptop has windows xp installed. i would like to install windvd to allow me to watch movies but i do not have admin rights.

    Is there a way i can recover what the admin password is (without changing it?)

      Its a work laptop. the it department will not install dvd software. if i CHANGE the admin password if in the future anyone from the IT department wants to log in they will not be able to.

        I think you should check you company's software policy. It may state that unauthorised software installation can result in termination of employment. Is watching movies worth your job?

          the IT department schould have a reason for not installing you're software. Maybe cause the software also problems with you're current applications.
