    >>>
    Austrumi (v0.9.2 - December 2004)
Simply boot the CD and when you get to the initial boot prompt, type:
    boot: nt_pass
This will launch a console utility that will detect Windows
    partitions on the ......
    <<<

This does not appear to do this?

I'd love to make this work as this seemed the easiest of the
    tools you featured.
    Thanks,

      The instructions say
"Type "nt_pass" at the boot menu
When you do it says could nto find nt kernel nt_pass
      Then boots to linux desktop

Hmmm... Strange. I'll try it and tell you what I get. BTW, did you contact the maker of the tool?
        Cheers,

I have tried and searched the two forums asscociated with Austrumi
          http://austrumi.isolis.lv/viewforum....fc6d07dd20b8ac
          and
          http://sourceforge.net/forum/?group_id=103017
The Sourceforge seems light in activity. The other has some info but any time nt_pass gets mentioned it seems as if it is working. ONe thread asks for a walk through but the answers just don't make any sense (or actually answer the question)

Apparently it has been removed in newer versions:
"Yes, the nt_pass option in Austrumi - 0.9.3 is removed."
            http://austrumi.isolis.lv/viewtopic.php?t=142

SO maybe the solution is to get an older version from:
            http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=103017
I'll try that and see what happens but I am lost as to why it was removed....

Hmmm... first, thanks for the info. Second, we'll see if this tool doesn't deliver as promised I'll remove it from the site.
              Cheers,

So here's the result of the tests........
nt_pass is in fact the same action as running
                http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/
The offline password editor from Petter Nordahl-Hagen. I guess that's why it ws taken out of Austrumi.
