Ophcrack is not a new tool by any means nor does this post offer enough information to be of value to the user community at large.

With regards to your enthusiasm for Ophcrack, please tell us your story so that others can benefit from your experience.

Also, please read the forum rules so that your posts can be effective for all:

Re: Not-So-NEW TOOL to recover the password

...oh, and there are no "primary" domain controllers in active directory, and there are no "local" passwords on ANY domain controller.

      SPAMMER...

Re: Not-So-NEW TOOL to recover the password

Certainly not a stellar post but I'm not so sure a spammer as I see no gain in it for the OP.

Ophcrack is the original of what is now commonly referred to as the rainbowcrack family of tools (used by LoginRecovery.com for example).

Here is the web site from Ecole Polytechnique in Switzerland:

        http://lasecwww.epfl.ch/~oechslin/projects/ophcrack/

I have PM'd ice asking for a more applicable post. Until then and unless I hear from Mods / Admins, I'm going to let this stand.
        Cheers,

        Rick
