  • Built Fax System Client/Server without using modems

    Hi,

First, sorry if this topic was in wrong places.

I'm getting a mission which will built a Fax System at my company (just 1 site).
I searched and found the instruction from yuval14 as below :

    1. Buy/get a good PC/Server and good modems (up to 4) 3com/Dymonde.
    2. Install Win 2003 Server on the machine.
    3. Setup fax service (please review help and support for quick manuals)
    4. Add the new fax as printer to the clients.

I think that's easy way and good for me. But you know, my boss want me to build a Fax System without using modems, just use ADSL line.

So, anybody know or built a system like that, please help me.

    Thanks a lot.
Love in vain is better than love no one.

    Hello nguyennp,

Well this is my first post too so welcome to the forums.

As far as I know you cannot send or recieve faxes from hooking a fax up to any type of DSL connections. Take a look here http://www.dslreports.com/faq/136

Good luck and perhaps some of the smart wonderful people here have worked around that situation.

It sure is! What made you come up with the formula that FAX = Active Directory issues?

There are fax to web services available that do the "land line" bit of the faxing on your behalf. Try some of these Google results for more info

Because I think that it was built based on Client/Server and integrated with AD.
But you know, I was sorry
BTW, thanks a lot for all information.
