  • lost files in NT

One of my users mistakenly deleted some files from her network folder located in an NT server machine. Unfortunately these particular files were not backed-up and hence I have to retrieve them from the system itself. However I cannot see any trace of these deleted files in the serverís or the client PCís recycled bin or other folders. Any clues where I might locate recently deleted files that were on the server but were deleted from a client PC?

    Thanks. David.

    You can't.
Files deleted over network do not go into Recycle Bin. They are wiped out.

      its gone...
if you delete something from a network share then the data wouldn't be placed in a recycle bin.

try someting as undelete tools... maybe that will work..

otherwise bad luck and configure a backup!

Buy a copy of Undelete Server ( which will recover files deleted over a network. It includes emergency undelete tools but its probably too late now...

This app has saved my reputation more than once -- for c. £200 per server its worth every penny.
