  • DOS to USB

It seems it is impossible to use DOS to access the USB port such as to printout anything with DOS. Is there software available to overcome this?

I have an old printer that still works of with Win XP and lower but no driver is available for Win 7 etc. So I am using the Generic Text driver of Windows to just print text. I want to try to use DOSBOX to get the USB printer to recognise Esc commands to change the Print types if possible.

Sorry Gordon, just a quick answer as I have a bloody Windows 8.1 issue with UEFI causing me grief. Hope this gives you something to read and come back with a few more questions.

Can you print to a file and then send that to the printer via the command line.
