  • Big problem

As soon as I log into Windows Xp, my virus scan should come up, and it did, but after it does, its like my whole computer freezes, i cant launch any programs, and if i hold on my click and drag, a text box or sqaure should appear, but it wont, and the only way i can restart my computer is by hitting the restart button, it wont allow me to turn it off, but if i log into Guest, everything works, so if u guys know anything about this, i would be grateful, thanks a lot

Which Virus scan program? Go back to basics: What's changed recently? What's been installed? Go in via safe mode and scan your system for spyware, malware, viruses, etc.

Also, remove it from the Startup Menu Start >Run >MsConfig >Startup Tap. Also, as what cmj002 suggested, run AntiSpyware by using MSAntiSpyware or TrendMicro-Antispyware. Both good tools.

      Hope this will help

Pre to all that is above you can run memtest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic to see if there is any defect ram module.

        Downlowed memtest 86 from http://www.memtest86.com/#download0
        Windows Memory Diagnostic from http://www.softpedia.com/progDownloa...load-3648.html
